DREAM - ATTACKED BY A DOG
I was walking alone it was night & it seemed like I knew the road. From s familiar house in the dream, not to me awake, came a bark and a growl followed by the sound of a running dog. I stopped walking but didn't seem scared. The dog came after me, but y didn't move. I was mad and put my arm into his mouth while yelling at him to let go of me and go back home right now. He wouldn't let go, but wouldn't bite either. Just held my arm in his mouth and looked at me. Out of frustration I started crying, I kept trying to get him to go home, but he wouldn't so I called for help. Then my alarm woke me and I felt like this dream needed interpretation.
WHAT IT MEANS
It's a story about how someone is safely on their way somewhere but their journey is interrupted by something that normally does no harm but this time causes pain and frustration, which they cannot stop.
It sounds a little bit like the story of your life right now. Things may have been okay in the past, now it feels vulnerable due to your father's illness and your job situation. It is as if life is trying to take a bite out of you, like the image of the dog bite in the dream, and you can't stop it. The dream mirrors the anguish and frustration you feel, how you can't instantly turn things around and make bad things go away.
The dream is about how life feels in general. From the dream images, there is an invitation to accept how things are rather than try to fight what is, right now (you can't fight the dog off). Things will change, they always do. But we can't always make it change when we want to, and how we want to. We have to let life unfold in it's own timing and way.
Bottom Line:
The dream is saying there is no instant answer or solutions, at this time, to what is frustrating and painful. That does not mean there is no answer, only that the time is not just yet (not now). You will have to be patient a little longer.
