NIGHTMARE OF HUSBAND KILLED
I was with my husband at a one time job site. He does computer work. We were getting ready to leave and I noticed he was wearing a suit but forgot his coat. I asked where it was and offered to go back in and get it. He got mad and said he would do it himself. But instead he noticed a blue pickup similiar to one a friend owns and decided to walk over there instead. As he walked past, the whole load of two by fours that was stacked in the truck came crashing down on him. I watched in horror and screamed for help. Next instant I was beside him with all the wood remove except one piece. It was splintered and had went right through his heart... There was no blood, but he was very dead. The dream ended. I woke up feeling horrible. My husband in real life was waking me up pleasantly. I am in the process of looking for a job for months with no luck
WHAT IT MEANS
It's a story about how someone is on their way somewhere but notices that something they must need is missing. On the way to retrieving what is missing, they are distracted, things come crashing down leading to a drastic end result.

It sounds like like the kind of stories comedians used to tell, "a funny thing happened to me on the way to ...." except that in this case, what happened is not funny, it's drastic. The gist, though, is that on the way to one kind of thing and action, there's a distraction (something else that get's one's attention), leading to a "big awakening" (a truck load of two by fours), and then a drastic change (death, but it's not bloody).

I think the dream may be a story about you finding a new job or career path, work direction, in life. You're seeking in one path or direction (likely what you used to do or are trained for). The missing coat suggests to me it's about the job (as something that gives us shelter in the world, like a job). However, either a friend or something different is going to "distract" or "get your attention". It tells me the next job or career you take up is going to be drastically different than what you did before, and will come as a big "aha", almost accidentally. It will lead to a drastic change in you and your life.
THE GOOD NEWS: I think this is a positive dream. The images only appear negative and drastic to you because the change you are about to make is unexpected, outside the box. You may be trying to think safe and act safe (of course), but this will be ... liberating. The old you will die, a new you will be reborn, into a new career and life. The dream is predicting you will not just get a new job, you will get a whole new career direction.
